The roadside flowers were beautiful at Swan Hill.
The sign was there to remind me how much this area has to lose in the near future. It says "Pull over if locusts impair your vision". As a teenager, I can remember walking down the street through a haze of locusts that came up to my knees.
The Web address on the sign leads to the Victorian Department of Primary Industry’s page on Australian Plague Locusts.
